8 Lottery mistakes you should avoid

  1. Don't play just when you "feel like it". Play consistently, on schedule.
  2. Don't play on popular days. Saturday is usually a "popular day' to play, because most people get paid on Friday. Take the less-traveled route. Ask the people where you buy your tickets which days are the least-popular, and play on those days. There will be less competition.
  3. Don't go over your budget. Don't be like the Wal-Mart clerks I have seen cashing their paychecks at convenience stores and then spending most of it on lotto, especially when the jackpot is high.
  4. Don't miss games. Play your chosen games consistently.
  5. If you have a good system for picking numbers, stick with it! Don't change your numbers.
  6. Don't give up too soon. The old saying "the darkest hour is just before dawn" applies here.
  7. Don't play games with 7 or 8 balls. Stick with games with 5 or 6 balls, or even lower. The less balls, the greater your odds of winning something.
  8. Don't play the game with the highest numbers. Instead play the game with the lowest.
